This type of picture will be found in the 'Graphics' section. There are also a couple of discs of clip art in the Careware catalogue and although these cost £5 most of this (£4) goes to charity. If you are buying a lot of clip art then why not spend a little extra and be sure that some of your money is being donated to a good cause? We have introduced a section consisting of theme packs. These may be one, two, or more discs containing similar items taken from the 'normal' section. Because discs are normally compiled as material is available you might sometimes need to buy several to get most of the files on a specific subject. These compilations will help you to be more precise in your purchasing. All compilation discs have a 'DC' prefix. At the end of the normal DTP discs is a section consisting of complete discs of clip art from individual contributors. Some are PD and others Shareware or 'samplers'. Note that these are not catagorised like the other discs and they have different numbers starting at DP100 so please be careful when you write your order. If you use Impression don't miss the Artworks section - you will find this at the end of this file. We now have so many disc that some sections have now filled up. When the DTP numbering system ws devised it never occurred to us that we would have more than 26 discs in a section, so we used letters as identifiers. We now have so many discs that with some sections we have had to start again at 'AA', so please be careful if you are writing the disc numbers. Prices are the same as 'normal' discs and can of course be added to others to qualify for Bonus discs. Owing to the range of tools available for the Archimedes there is no sure way of telling whether a font has been actually created by the person who sent it or is taken from a PC, Mac or other copyright source. However quite a few PD fonts do exist for the PC and if these are converted for the Archimedes there is no easy way of distinguishing them from copyright material. When material is sent to us we can only exercise normal precautions to avoid copyright infringement, there is no way to be 100% certain. All the fonts shown below are, so far as we are aware, not subject to commercial copyright. If you do recognise any of them then please inform us at once. We assure anyone who does recognise any name or style that it was accepted in good faith and that it will be removed immediately. Thanks to Aaron Timbrel of the Electronic Font Foundry for his help in weeding out many of the copyright fonts that we have been sent. Each disc has a !Fonts directory and an application to display the various styles in a desktop window. Codes shown at the end of each font description are - R - Regular I - Italic E - Emphasised B - Bold M - Medium F - Feint F100 -=>> For titles, screen display, games etc. <<=- Acorn An outline version of the standard 'System' font. Very useful if you want to produce scaled versions of screen displays for illustrations, etc. (RE) LCD Looks like an 11 segment LCD display. (RI) Tech Very 'modern' font. Looks something like the letters used on crates created by 'stippling' with a cut-out template card. (R) Brick Plain, square-ish, font, but drawn so that it looks as though it has been built from bricks. It really needs a large size to show this properly (20pt or bigger). Good for title screens, etc. (RI) Alpha Letters made up of dots most effective at larger point sizes (M) Itali Thick eye catching italic style with 'Greek' look to the letters. (E) Jayne A simple brush font most suitable at larger point sizes. (M) Renew Attractive sans serif font for headlines (EI) Smart A 'squared' lettered mono spaced font suitable for titles and limited body text application. (RIE) Stok Very futuristic style with cut away letters. Upper case only. (R) Stencil Upper case only 'packing case' type letters. Regular is fine lined, mono spaced 'squared' lettered font suitable for use on main body work. (RO) F106 Gangster Bitmapped 12 point font Based on the Apple Mac 'Chicago' font, hence the name. (EM in RI) Theatre Fancy font with the stems alternating between thick and thin lines (EI) Splodge Fancy font. Looks like letters written on blotting paper is probably the best description (R in EI) Octopuss Fancy Open font with background shading. (R) Columbia Script font that is unusual as it has no decenders (I) Bottleneck Fancy slab serif font - looks as though the letters have been pushed in the neck of a bottle.
